Toyota Corolla Liftback

A slightly upmarket version called the Toyota Sprinter was sold in the Japanese home market. It was replaced in 2001 by the Toyota Allex, which was then replaced by the Toyota Blade in 2006.

There have also been several models over the years, including the Corolla Ceres (and similar Sprinter Marino) hardtop, Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno sports coupés and hatchbacks, and the Corolla FX hatchback, which became the Corolla RunX. The RunX was replaced by the Auris in 2006. A compact MPV named the Corolla Verso has also been released in European markets. Its Japanese counterpart is the Corolla Spacio, which has been discontinued as of the 10th generation. The US-market Scion xB is also sold in Japan as the Corolla Rumion.

The Toyota Corolla Matrix, better known just as the Toyota Matrix, shares the E120 and E140 platforms, and is considered the hatchback/sport wagon counterpart of the North American Corolla sedan, as the Corolla hatchback is not sold there. Toyota frequently combines the sales figures of the Corolla sedan and Matrix. [3]

Over the years, there have been rebadged versions of the Corolla, sold by General Motors, including the 1980s' Holden Nova of Australia, and the Sprinter-based Chevrolet Nova, Chevrolet Prizm, and Geo Prizm (in the United States). The Corolla liftback (TE72) of Toyota Australia was at one point badged the T-18. The five-door liftback was sold with the Corolla Seca name in Australia and the nameplate survived on successive five-door models. The Daihatsu Charmant was produced with the E30 through E70 series

The name Corolla is part of Toyota's naming tradition of using the name Crown for their primary models, e.g. the Corona, which is Latin for crown, or the Corolla, which is Latin for small crown and Camry which is an Anglicized pronunciation of the Japanese term "kanmuri" meaning "crown". One of Toyota's first cars sold in the U.S was also called the Toyopet Tiara in 1960.

Corollas are currently manufactured in Japan, the United States (Fremont, California), the United Kingdom (Derbyshire), Canada (Cambridge, Ontario), Malaysia, China (Tianjin), Taiwan, South Africa, Brazil (Indaiatuba, São Paulo), Turkey, Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, Pakistan and India.

Lambhorgini rear view

In March of 1964, Lamborghini's first production car arrived and was named the 350 GT. The 350 GT was succeeded by the 400 GT and the 400 GT 2+2. When the Miura was introduced, a true super-car, it was named after a famous bull's race, and this practice became a tradition for the House of the Bull.
During its life time, the company has faced some hardships but has been able to pull through due to breath-taking works-of-art such as the Countach, Espada, and Diablo.
In 1973 Ferrucio sold all of his companies and retired to his vineyard in Italy's Umbria province. He died on February 20, 1993 at the age of 77.

Lamborghini in India

This Lambhorgini is owned by the flamboyant Industrialist Gautam Singhania of Raymonds. It was on display at the Speed Car Motor Show at Bandra, Mumbai-India.
Not many takers for this priceless sports car in Mumbai because its so low that it is not feasible to drive it on Mumbai's pot holed roads.
Gautam Singhania has many other sports car in his collection which include the Lotus, Audi, Mercedes, etc.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA was founded in early 1963 at SantAgata Bologna. He used his birth sign, Taurus the bull, as a symbol for his cars. Most of his cars were named in connection with bulls. Giotto Bizzarrini, a former employee of Ferrari was recruited to design and build a V-12 for Lamborghini. The engine was soon completed and produced 400 BHP. Since Ferrucio wanted a GT car and not a race car, the engine was de-tuned to 280 BHP.

Lamborghini, is an italian manufacturer of high performance sports car. Lamborghini is now a subsidiary of German car manufacturer Audi AG, which is in turn a subsidiary of Volkswagen.
Ferrucio Lamborghini owned a Ferrari that started giving him problems. The problems could not be solved by the local repair shop so he took it to Modena and confronted Enzo Ferrari himself. Enzo Ferrari, a man known for his arrogance, told Ferrucio that the problem was not with the car but rather with the 'farmer'. After being insulted, Ferrucio decided to build his own GT car.

Making of Scorpio

Mahindra Scorpio Rear View

The company broke the rule that says automakers must design, engineer and test their own vehicles spending millions of dollars in the process. The new Mahindra Scorpio SUV had all of its major systems designed directly by suppliers with the only input from Mahindra being design, performance specifications and program cost. Design and engineering of systems was done by suppliers, as was testing, validation and materials selection. Sourcing and engineering locations were also chosen by suppliers. The parts were later to be assembled in a Mahindra plant under the badge of Mahindra (as Mahindra is a well known brand among Indian in the MUV segment). The company built a brand-new vehicle with virtually 100 percent supplier involvement from concept to reality for $120 million, including improvements to the plant. The product took 5 years to materialise from a concept to the final product.

Scorpio The Dream Car

Prior to the mid-nineties, M & M was an automobile assembly plant. The company used to manufacture Willys Jeeps and its minor modified versions (modifications carried out in India). In 1996, the company planned to enter the SUV segment with an all new product which can compete even in foreign markets. Since M & M didn't have the know-how of making a new age product, they devised a whole new concept among Indian auto companies. For their growth, the company roped in new executives such as Dr. Pawan Goenka and Alan Durante who have worked in this industry in western countries.
